academic/departments/drama1.jpg Drama is taught to all boys in the Third Form through a series of practical workshop sessions, often linked to their English course, which aim to develop self-awareness and powers of self- expression. Thereafter boys may opt for a GCSE Drama and Theatre Arts course, and in the Sixth Form for an AS or full A level in Theatre Studies.

At all levels emphasis is placed on the development of both performance and technical skills, with confidence building through the exploration of improvisation techniques, work from text, and devised performance from a given stimulus or theme. The single most important factor in Drama is the ability to work as part of a team, and most of the sessions involve the close cooperation of boys working together in small groups.

There are many opportunities for boys to see a wide variety of plays both locally and in London, these being essential for those studying for either GCSE or AS/A level.
