Tonbridge School is at the heart of a hub of five Tonbridge based schools, whose bid to foster increased, more sophisticated and widespread provision for Gifted and Talented pupils has been successful. The full 'Building Bridges' programme is being developed and will commence in September at the start of the new academic year 2008/9.

Each of the schools in the hub will be working closely with two secondary and two primary schools this year as part of their contribution to a rich and varied programme of support for gifted and talented pupils so as to maximise their potential to the full.

In two subsequent years, the project will expand into East Kent. We will be focusing in particular on areas of social deprivation. This is a tremendously exciting project for it not only recognises that we have the expertise amongst our staff and pupils to help in this way, but gives us the opportunity to build even stronger links with the other local schools in the hub.
