Holiday Courses > Information
If you find you have to make a cancellation, which must be confirmed in writing, fees paid (less the administrative charge) will be returned provided notification takes place at least one month prior to the course. As later cancellation will often affect the viability of the course itself and lead to others being disappointed, refunds can only be considered exceptionally. We reserve the right to cancel a course with insufficient numbers, in which case we will offer an alternative course or, if unacceptable, give a complete refund including the administrative charge.
Please refer to the individual courses for essential and recommended clothing. If your child has clothing or equipment for the other half of the day in a bag that is too large to cope with, we can safely look after it in our office at the Orchard Centre, where it can be collected at any time.
In some sport courses it is possible to gain national awards, the cost of which is included in the price of the course. However, it should be noted that some children may not be able to achieve the required standard in the time available.
Our regular support team provides supervision at break times and lunch. We are happy to look after children 6 years & over from 8.30am before the morning courses and until 5.00pm at the end of the afternoon courses - but please do not exceed these times. All children except under 6 years should be left at and collected from the Orchard Café apart from the morning and afternoon registrations on the first day, which are in Old Big School. After first day registration children under 6 years should be taken directly to the course venue and collected from there.
We will enclose the tariff of the Orchard Café when confirming your courses. Children may bring their own packed lunch, or meals may be ordered upon arrival or at break time. Parents are welcome to stay for coffee and/or lunch with their children. However, children under 6 years must be supervised over lunch by a parent/guardian if they are staying all day. Free drinks of squash are provided each break and there is a tuck shop, where children can buy soft drinks, sweets or crisps.
During the breaks no formal instruction will be given, but general care assistants will mix socially or take small groups out for informal sport (weather permitting). Alternatively, children may watch a cartoon video or sit and talk to friends.
It is possible photographs may be taken during the courses for use in future Tonbridge School Holiday Courses brochures, on our website and other electronic media. Please advise us in writing if you do not wish your child/children to feature in them.
Lost property will be brought to our office in the Orchard Centre at the end of each day where you may make enquiries about any items your children have mislaid. However, any unclaimed items are sent to charity shops within a few weeks of the courses finishing.
If there are any problems please come and see us at the Courses Office. We are here to help and would prefer to know of any problem straight away. Please don't wait until the course is over.
