All training/testing is by qualified instructors and will take place on quiet public roads near the School. Pupils must be able to ride a bicycle to a reasonable standard of proficiency. It is a condition of our insurance that all parents sign an agreement giving permission for their children to participate in this activity on public roads and this will be sent with the confirmation letter and should be returned immediately.
Children's bicycles will be checked for roadworthiness on the first day; any not meeting the legal requirements regarding brakes and tyres will not be allowed on the road. The wearing of a cycling helmet is recommended. Appropriate instructional booklets will be issued to all participants on the first day of the course. Those who achieve a satisfactory standard will receive a certificate.
All bicycles can remain under lock at the School throughout the week.
