Off-site opportunities

Cadets learn more when facing greater challenges. Off-site activities, often run by unfamiliar personnel, provide a far greater challenge because they are out of the "comfort zone" of school. Such activities can take place on a limited basis during term time, but we are able to tap in to a wide range of service resources at weekends and during holidays. The following gives an idea of the possibilities:

  • A night exercise in the Army Training area in the Ashdown Forest.
  • A week's camp at an RAF station, covering a wide range of adventurous activities.
  • A leadership course run at Frimley Park.
  • A week's sailing with RN instructors.
  • Air Experience Flying with the RAF.
  • A week spent with a sponsor unit in Cyprus.
  • A full scale expedition to Canada, covering adventurous training at all levels.
  • A few days spent on board our affiliated ship in the Mediterranean.
  • Four days' team building and leadership training in the Brecon Beacons.
