Concert And Opera Societies
The Concert and Opera Societies are run by a member of the full-time music staff, but the principal choices of which concert of opera to go to are made by the Society Secretary, who is a member of the Upper Sixth form and is therefore replaced each year by a new secretary.
The Concert Society usually attends concerts in London, and takes its ad hoc membership from first to fifth year. The Opera Society is planning visits to Glyndebourne and English National Opera this year. Opera-by-definition will be performing in the Theatre at the beginning of the summer term, giving access to both musical and dress rehearsals.
