Extra Curricular > Clubs And Societies > Modern Languages
The purpose of this society is to encourage a wider interest in the languages and cultures of other countries, and particularly in the languages offered at Tonbridge.
Events are arranged on a regular basis, about three or four times a term, and may include talks by visiting speakers or members of the department, film showings, food and/or wine tastings, and theatre trips. Recent events include a talk on "Bullfighting: The Last Serious Thing", a Pétanque competition for the first year students, a production of Marivaux's Le Jeu de L'Amour et du Hasard by the Selwyn Touring Theatre, a Languages and Careers Evening, and a crêpe-making (and tasting!) session.
