Extra Curricular > Clubs And Societies > Music and Choral
The Choral Society meets on Mondays from 4.30 - 5.15pm in the Recital Room, conducted by the Director of Music. Its membership is taken from students and staff, including the members of the Chapel Choir. The aim of the Society is to encourage singing within the school, not just for music scholars but also for boys of all standards and interests. It is joined by local girls' schools both for the concerts and some of the rehearsals.
Two major choral works are performed each year, normally in the Chapel, with a symphony orchestra and professional soloists. Recent works performed include Haydn's Nelson Mass, Britten's St Nicolas, Fauré's Requiem and James MacMillan's Magnificat.
