Summer Term
The Climbing Club trains in evenings throughout the winter on a local indoor climbing wall. In the summer term, members of the club climb for three afternoons each week on the school's outdoor wall and on local sandstone outcrops at Bowles, Bulls Hollow, Harrisons Rocks, High Rocks, Stone Farm and Under Rockes. The boys are encouraged to develop their leading skills by fully qualified instructors and longer trips are arranged to more distant climbing areas. The Cuillin on Skye, the Peak District and the Cornish sea cliffs have all been visited in recent years.
