The School possesses seven Fives Courts which are regularly used. Three of those still retain the Winchester butresses whilst the other four are standard Rugby Fives courts. Fives is mainly played as a competitive sport in the Lent Term when seventy boys play regularly. School matches are arranged for all age groups and there are usually three teams of four at each age group. Fives provides a great opportunity to try out a new sport at Tonbridge and caters for boys of all sporting abilities. The strongest players go on to represent the school in the National Schools' Fives Championships and in 2004 a Tonbridgian won the under sixteen singles competition. However the ethos of the club is that all players are given a chance to improve, to play competitive games at their standard and to take part in a sport which still values sportsmanship very highly.
