Ultimate Frisbee

Ultimate Frisbee

Master-in-charge: Mr Will Biddle

Summer Term

Ultimate is a non-contact yet dynamic and exciting sport played with a 175gm disc (normally referred to as a Frisbee!). The sport is played on a pitch measuring 100m x 40m, and the point of the game is to score a goal by passing the disc up field until a team mate catches the disc in an end zone. There is no referee, and players are introduced to a concept known as ‘Spirit of the Game’, where everyone involved is responsible for fair play. Teams are 7 a side (outdoors) and 5 a side (indoors, if too windy). The sport is often described as a cross between American football and netball.

Open to Sixth Formers only as a Summer Term games option.  Open to all boys as an after school club in the Michaelmas and Lent terms.

Tonbridge play teams from Reigate, Radley, Canterbury and Eton and enters national tournaments.  There is also an annual fixture against an OT team on Skinners' Day.
