Lent Term

Hockey is one of the school's major sports in The Lent Term and the school's hockey tradition stretches back over 100 years. The school fields 21 hockey teams (5 in the Sixth Form, 4 in the Under 16s, 5 in the Under 15s and 7 in the Under 14s). All boys are encouraged to play some hockey in their first year at the school whether it be in school teams or inter house competitions.

Tonbridge has some of the finest hockey facilities in the country with the brand new Foundation (Water Based) Astro and two other astroturf pitches meaning that more teams play hockey on this surface than at almost any other school in the country. These facilities are also used by many outside clubs affording Tonbridgians easy access into the world of club hockey. In addition the new Sports and Media Centre will provide a fantastic indoor hockey facility.

Several boys have recently achieved County representation at their age group level and many boys go on to play the highest standard of University and club hockey. Old Boy Hockey provides a lasting link with the school for an increasing number as the OTHC continues to grow.
