Foundation places in day houses are extremely important because boarding is not a natural fit with many foundationers. Yet the school has to turn away too many talented and deserving candidates because we simply do not have the funded places. This is why we are extremely keen to see the Smythe House Foundation Award flourish.
So far we have raised £30,981 - not quite half the amount needed to make the first award.
Our intention is for this scheme to become an enduring part of Smythe House culture, so we will continue to promote the cause to the Smythe world.
The scheme is led by a committee comprising Charles Rosenemeyer, Chairman (1962-67), Andrew Granger (parent), Mandeep Hansra (past parent), Paul Langridge (1956-60), Guy Newey (1972-76), Sven Royall (1968-72), Chris Henshall (Housemaster)
