This year, in addition to drinks and lunch with the Headmaster, the Judde Society day in June included a choice of lessons to attend with the boys, an inspection of the building works for the new Centre and a talk from David Walsh, Second Master, on pastoral care within the school.
OTs who pledge to include Tonbridge in their wills automatically qualify as members of the Judde Society - a group formed in 2004 to recognise the generosity of legators. The ranks of the Society are gradually swelling as more OTs sign up. And, with some younger OTs now stepping forward, silver hair is not necessarily the defining feature of membership; indeed the youngest member is only 30.
James Underhill, Foundation Director, said: 'It's one thing to come back to the school and be wined and dined, but we think that anyone leaving money to Tonbridge also ought to have the chance to look more closely at what the school of today is all about. As teaching is at the heart of what Tonbridge does, inclusion in some lessons seems an obvious thing to offer.'

My parents sacrificed a lot for me to go to Tonbridge and, as my business became more successful, I know it gave them a great deal of pleasure to know that my education had given me such a good start. I have included the Tonbridge School Foundation in my will because I believe I owe a lot of my success and happiness to the school and I would like others to benefit in the same way as I did.
