The Director of Admissions is a member of the Senior Management Team and thus part of a consultative process regarding whole school policy decisions, and is responsible for the general oversight, direction and review of all aspects of the school's admissions policy and practice. The following list is not exhaustive but indicates the main areas of responsibility.
- Manager (both formally and informally, on a day-to-day basis) of the Admissions staff.
- General supervision of the admissions systems (liaison with Headmaster and Admissions secretaries, maintain contacts with prospective parents and feeder school Heads).
- Liaison with Director of Studies over numbers in the school and entry other than to the 1st Year.
- Oversight of scholarship administration, Common Entrance administration and Junior and Foundation Scholarship administration.
- Organisation of and attendance at exhibitions at prep schools and elsewhere with other senior staff.
- Member of the Communications group, with particular responsibility for recruitment of pupils, and joint responsibility for the school prospectus.
- Monitoring trends in numbers of enquiries and applications.
- Oversight of the assessment of applicants and allocation of conditional places and subsequent organisation of House lists.
- Organisation of prospective parents' tours and boy guides; meeting visiting parents if Headmaster not available.
- Organisation of Open Mornings.
- Contribution to Headmaster's termly report to the Governors.
- Prep school liaison.
- Oversight of the Novi Visit with the Lower Master.
