1st XV Third Unbeaten Season

Tuesday 12th December 2006

Winning seasons on a schools' rugby circuit which includes Harrow, Eton, Radley, Dulwich and Wellington are not easy to come by. And to do it in three consecutive years is a remarkable feat. This year's 1st XV had the unenviable task of following two consecutive undefeated sides in 2004 and 2005, but this is precisely what happened under the guidance of Nathan Leamon and Graeme Gales. It was a hard fought 11 - 6 victory over a very strong Wellington side which was the climax of Tonbridge rugby's most successful run ever. The game was played in front of a bumper crowd, including many of the team members who had played in the previous two victorious years. This only added to the celebrations after the final whistle!
