Academic
Old Tonbridgians Henry Cullen (WH 2001 - 05) Balliol and Joshua Lom (CH 2001 - 05) New College both achieved firsts in Classics Mods (Classical Honour Moderations) at Oxford.
Fencing
In the Public Schools Fencing Championships at Crystal Palace Ed Tayler Sc5 came 6th in the Senior Epée out of an entry of 142 fencers from 122 schools. Overall the team was placed 14th.
Golf
Jasdeep Hansra SH2 and his father won the 2007 Fathers & Sons Competition at the London Golf Club on 5 April, beating 33 other Father & Son pairs. They are now the proud owners of the magnificent new Hedges Bowl.
Hockey
Matt Tozzi WH3 and Hugh Robinson PS3 played for the Kent U16s against England U16s, with Kent winning the match 4 - 2!
Shooting
Tim Burgess CH4 has been selected as a member of the UK Cadet Rifle Team, and will compete in the Jersey Full-Bore Rifle Championships in August.
The 1st VIII achieved 2nd place in the Ffennell Small-Bore Competition, part of the Commonwealth Cadet Shooting Competition. The winners were Gresham's.
Chemistry
In the Chemistry Olympiad Vincent Chau Sc5 and Lawrence Wong FH5 both won Gold Certificates, and David Houghton Sc5, Joseph Cheng PH5, Peter Aisher FH4 and Michael Hauser-Raspe FH5 gained Silver Certificates.
Nick Spiller FH5, Ronald Chow MH4, Victor Chan PH4, David Akroyd WH5,
James Thompson OH5, David Pigott CH4, and Edward Halford WW5 won Bronze.
It is really an UpVIth test, so the LoVIth boys have done particularly well.
Music
26 candidates were successful in their Associated Board exams, 10 of them passing with Merit and 5 with Distinction. 3 passed Grade 8: Caolan Cotter FH4 (Organ) and Richard Southgate PH4 (Singing) with Merit, and Paul Lanigan Sc3 (Piano) with Distinction. William Chan FH2 (Piano), George Kendrick (FH2) (Horn), Gordon Taylor Sc3 (Piano) and Laurence Williams FH4 (Horn) also gained Distinctions.
