Congratulations go to the Grounds staff at Tonbridge School who have been named the winners of the Cricket World 2007 Groundsmen of the Year Award for the School / College Category. They have been selected based on the outstanding quality of the cricket playing surfaces and general upkeep of the grounds. Winning of the awards is a real triumph for all the Ground staff at Tonbridge School who work hard through out the year to get the grounds in top condition. Director of Grounds George Alexander says "I am delighted that all the hard work is recognized, we are continually looking for ways to get the pitches in even better condition and it is fantastic to see all our efforts rewarded".
Laurence Gale, of Pitchcare and chief judge says "The presentation of the Tonbridge School grounds is exceptional, and, particular, the cricket outfields and squares."
The Grounds Staff involved with the cricket pitches are George Alexander, Tim King, Mike Brain, Lee Stapley, Larry Newstead, Chaz Jenner and Matt Burgin.
