National Rugby 7s

Thursday 20th March 2008

The Tonbridge U16s performed outstandingly well at the Rosslyn Park Tournament (which is the world's largest rugby tournament). They proved themselves to be the best England side in the competition, getting through to the finals where they lost to Brynteg, very large Welsh school which has produced several Welsh internationals in the recent years. Tonbridge lost 14 - 5 in a game that could have gone either way. 148 schools entered this year's Colts tournament and for our boys to reach the final was an exceptional effort from them all.

The squad was comprised of the following boys

  • Josh Payne (MH)
  • Tom Mackay (PH)
  • Tom Grant (MH)
  • Oliver Colegrave (HS)
  • Bertie James (PH)
  • Henry Johnstone (JH)
  • Ben Ransom (OH)
  • Caspian Paget (MH)
  • Damilola Segun (MH)
  • Jonny Short (MH)
  • Andy Oh (PH)
  • Tom Brown (WW)
