Lieutenant Colonel Paul Tennant and Captain Nick Bamford visited Tonbridge on 24 September, arriving by an army Apache helicopter. They flew in to give a presentation to the Tonbridge School Combined Cadet Force about their recent tour to Afghanistan, as well as answering questions on a variety of subjects.
The arrival of the helicopter was filmed by boys using new technology (HDV-Z1E cameras 1080i High Definition 3CCD cameras and Planet stream) provided by the Media Centre. ITV Meridian used the footage filmed on their 6.30 local news; the first time that Tonbridge produced footage has been on national television.
Novi boys this term are all being taught the basics of using the technology in the centre. The media centre is open to all on a daily basis and there is a keen core of boys who are making the use of the facilities. For more information about the media centre please contact David Love, dpl@tonbridge-school.org.
