Tonbridge has Talent

Monday 23rd February 2009

Organised by sixth formers from Tonbridge School and Weald of Kent Grammar School, the first ever "Tonbridge has Talent" was a huge success. The final charity performance, held in Big School, on Friday February 6th was a sell-out. Nineteen acts from eight different schools performed to an exceptional standard and the 5 local arts judges had a difficult job selecting winners. The students themselves decided which charities they wished to support and £1700 was raised for three charities - Hospice in the Weald, AmaniKids, and Make a Wish Foundation. The evening was deemed such a success that we will be repeating it next year.

Talent show winners:

  1. Edward Hilsum, of the Judd School, with his magician's act.
  2. Amy Squirrel, of the Weald of Kent Grammar School, with her vocal rendition of From Yesterday.
  3. Tom Edkins, of Tonbridge School, with his comedy routine.
