Congratulations to students who took public examinations earlier this Summer and achieved outstanding results.
A Levels
Our Upper Sixth Formers achieved a 100% pass rate, scoring an average of 444 UCAS points per candidate (on the UCAS scale where A = 120, B = 100, C = 80 etc, with AS counting half of those values). 77% of subject entries were awarded A grades, 38% of the year group hold 4 or more A levels at A grade and 61% of the year group hold 3As or better.
Deryck Chan holds 6 A levels at grade A, plus the top Prize Pen on Skinners’ Day and a Bronze Medal at the Informatics Olympiad during the holidays! A further thirteen boys hold 5 grade As at A level.
The results have ensured that 21 of this year group are successful Oxbridge candidates and that the vast majority of the other leavers have achieved a place at their first choice university.
AS Exams
These are the best ever AS results from a cohort who had achieved the best ever GCSE results. 74% of the results were A graded. The previous best was 69% in last year. 93% of the grades were A or B. 48 % of the cohort now hold 4 or more A grades at AS with 69 % holding 3 or more A grades. Nearly a third of the cohort achieved an average of 90% UMS marks or better across their four subjects.
GCSE Results
The average GCSE holding is the equivalent of 3A*s and 6As and the mean grade per candidate is 7.27 (A* = 8, A = 7, etc...). There is a 99.4% A* to C pass rate with 84.3% at grades A*/A.
17 boys hold 10 A* or more. A school record.
These successes are a testament to the hard work of the pupils and the dedication of the staff, both teaching and support.
