Beating the Enemy

Monday 18th January 2010

The start of the Lent Term saw two sections from the Tonbridge CCF heading off to battle. The Cadets were acting as enemy for the Regular recruits in training from the Guards Company in Catterick.   The week long exercise saw Tonbridge cadets involved in a mock shooting incident, a day of section attacks and, planning and executing an ambush of the regular recruits whilst they were on a routine patrol.  The Tonbridge boys then had to defend a farm from a full scale Platoon attack.  The boys worked extremely well throughout the exercise despite extreme weather conditions, one night temperatures dropped to -12 degrees.

Tonbridge will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of the CCF on March 10th.  More information here.
