Over 150 cadets participated in an extremely professional CCF Open Day on Wednesday March 12th. After a formal ceremony, with a Naval Section honour guard inspected by Commodore Steve Kirby, guests observed (and joined in) cadet activities around the campus. Activities included bridge building, a flight simulator, target shooting and, camp craft.
During the CCF Annual Dinner on the evening of Open Day, Commodore Kirby was invited to present the Paterson Sword to the cadet who had done the most to further the aims of the CCF. The sword, a truly magnificent donation from the Paterson family, will be awarded every year and on this - its inaugural day - the winner was Cadet Warrant Officer Tim Burgess (CH5). The sword will also be re-awarded on Skinners' Day.
