Weekends at Tonbridge

The weekends at Tonbridge form key part of the ethos of the school. There are lessons on Saturday mornings until 1.00 and matches against other schools in the afternoon. On Sundays there are Chapel services ( either mornings or evenings) and much besides. Many activities (Music, Drama, Art, Design Technology, Computing, racket sports, Swimming, the Library and Careers) are best pursued at the weekends when the facilities are open and there is time to devote to them.

The E.M. Forster theatre is often a hive of activity on a Sunday where rehearsals for GCSE/AS/A2 level plays, as well as house and school productions take place. Whether it is in the main theatre or the Studio, on the stage or on the technical side, there is often plenty going on for both dramatic and musical productions.

In addition, boarders are able to use these facilities on Sunday:

We have established strong links with Benenden and often take part in joint activities at the weekend. As well as large year group socials, Tonbridge boarding houses are twinned with those at Benenden and organise smaller, year group activities; for example, sailing and Barbeque in the summer (Judde house), or dinner in Tunbridge Wells (Manor twinned with Marshall and Hillside with Medway).
