Head of School, Ethan Glucina (PS), recently spoke at Westminster Palace at an event exploring the role of mindfulness in education. The key focus was on how to introduce mindfulness into school curricula around the UK, and the growing need for a tool to help young people manage anxiety, stress, and setbacks. A cross section of MPs and peers attended, including Professor Lord Richard Layard, one of the world’s leading experts on wellbeing.
Ethan spoke eloquently about his own experiences in mindfulness and the impacts on his life. Ethan explained, "Mindfulness allowed me as a basketball player and competitive debater, to handle anxiety before shooting a free throw or giving a speech."
As well as sharing his experience at Tonbridge, Ethan described how he and other Sixth Formers are introducing mindfulness to Year 6 children at Long Mead Community School to help with their wellbeing and resilience.
