Chapel Choir perform at Southwark Cathedral

Southwark cathedral

At the start of the Summer term, the Chapel Choir sung Evensong at Southwark Cathedral, deputising for the Cathedral Choir.

The music included ‘Let all the world’ by Ralph Vaughan Williams and the ‘Magnificat and Nunc dimittis’ by T Tertius Noble and William Walton’s coronation march 'Crown Imperial', performed by organist Laurence Long in honour of St George’s Day.

Choirmaster, Julian Thomas, said, “The experience of singing in places other than the Chapel is a wonderful opportunity for the Choir and our recent visit to Southwark Cathedral was no exception. Even though it was the first day of term, the boys were on top form, singing confidently and filling the Cathedral with their sound, much to the delight of the congregation.”
