‘Parent Power’ Schools Guide 2024 places Tonbridge sixth nationally and top for boarding schools
Departments
Tonbridge School has 25 departments. Each is led by a Head of Department who meets regularly with his or her team to discuss, amongst other things, the progress of boys, both individually and collectively, the choice of examination board, relevant aspects of pedagogy and developments in the subject.
Heads of Department also meet regularly, in faculties or clusters of similar subjects, with the Deputy Head Academic to discuss a wide range of academic issues. Heads of Faculties and cluster representatives also attend the Academic Meeting termly with the Headmaster and academic members of the Senior Team.
