Tonbridge gained a number of gold awards in the Chemistry Challenge.
Congratulations to Matt Hayes (OH5), Henry Weston (JH5), Joshua Sin (MH5), Keith Wong (HS5), Reggie Leung (HS5) and Harvey Dovell (PH5), who received notice of their gold award placing over the summer.
Tonbridgians also won four silver and eleven copper awards. Notably Ben Burgess (WW3) and Olly Gedney (PS3) gained copper awards – an outstanding achievement given they were sitting the exam two years early.
This Chemistry Challenge aims to stretch and challenge students interested in chemistry, and provides an excellent experience for anyone considering taking their studies further. Set by an experienced team of teachers and university chemists, it is designed to be accessible to Year 12 students but will take them significantly beyond the syllabus and encourage them to think about science in the way they would at university.
