Fathers and sons golf

Tonbridge boys and their fathers travelled to Northern Ireland over the Easter break to play some of the most acclaimed links courses in the world, including the venue for the Open Championship in 2019 and home of Rory McIlroy, Royal Portrush.

The team played matches against local schools, RBAI, Coleraine Grammar and Campbell College and were victorious in all.

At Portstewart, the 'lads' beat the 'dads' and, in the 'Fathers and Sons' competition held at Royal County Down, the number one rated course in the world, James and Tom Nicholls won this year’s Hedges Bowl (handicap) with Richard and James Norris taking the Crawley Cup (scratch).

Full list of participants: Jim and Jack Francis (PS3), David and Sam Gilliland (FH2), Charlie and Fergus Jacobs (MH2), James and Tom Nicholls (WH3), Richard and James Norris (JH2), Mark and Hugo Pettman (WW4), Ian and Ed Springett (FH5), and Keith Froggatt and Henry Weston (JH4).
