Tonbridge boys were active in the local community throughout Field Day.
120 boys who volunteer for ‘Tonbridge Community Action’, as well as school staff, took part in a range of projects in glorious sunshine.
Third years ran the annual Olympic Legacy Athletics Tournament for over 200 children from 12 primary schools, using Tonbridge’s wonderful sports facilities. For many of the children this was their first taste of competitive athletics and the boys did a fantastic job of taking training sessions and encouraging participants to give their best.
Sixth Form boys worked on a variety of activities including playing sport with young asylum seekers and refugees, horse riding with the Cage Green Phoenix Centre for Autism, transforming gardens at Scotts Project - a trust which supports young people with learning disabilities - and assisting with repairs to bee hives. Others helped Haysden Country Park Wardens with work to secure the banks of Barden Lake.
