The Tonbridge School Foundation is a separate charity that raises funds for the development of the school, contributing to development planning and assessing how the money raised can be best applied. It is led by a group of members comprising parents, past parents, OTs, governors and staff who share one thing in common: they care deeply about Tonbridge and its future. The Foundation has played a pivotal role in developing a programme to widen access to the school - the Foundation Awards scheme for scholarships and bursaries.

After five years as Foundation Chairman John Coldman has chosen to stand down. During his leadership and careful guidance the Foundation now fufills a very creditable role in supporting the school in all aspects of development. His successor is Roy Brown (HS 1961-65). Like John, Roy brings considerable business experience to the role and is currently Chairman of GKN and a Director of Santander.
I came back into the Tonbridge fold relatively recently and have been extremely impressed by the school as it is today. It is a wonderfully stimulating place, doing a top class job. I am excited by the prospect of leading the Foundation in the next chapterof the school's development.
Roy Brown, Foundation Chairman
