Lower Sixth University Information Evening and Next Steps Fair
The Global Futures Department hosted its annual Universities Information Evening and Next Steps Fair for Lower Sixth boys and their parents, on Monday evening, providing an opportunity for boys to explore options for their next steps.
The event included an array of international universities alongside UK based institutions, information about degree apprenticeships, gap year opportunities, and work experience support.
The evening welcomed Lower Sixth students from 14 local secondary schools, with 400 external students and 200 Tonbridge boys and parents coming along.
Portia King, Tonbridge School’s Careers Coordinator reflected that:
“It was a pleasure to see students engaging with universities from across England, Wales, the US, and Europe. And with interest in different pathways growing, there will be more opportunities to explore options at our online Degree Apprenticeships Evening on Monday 2 March .
The demand for gap year and work experience advice was also notable, with providers throughout the evening reporting a “busy and productive event” and “ Amazing engagement from all the students in attendance”
The evening concluded with informative talks from Exeter University, The University Guys introduced by the Headmaster in the EM Forster Theatre, covering the topics of UK and overseas university application processes.
Attendees left with their Tonbridge School tote bags overflowing with prospectuses, motivated to take their next steps.
