Tonbridge announces Heads of School for 2026-27
Tonbridge School is pleased to announce that day boy, Guy (OH4) will be the Head of School for the 2026-27 academic year. Boarder, Charlie (FH4) and Ed (WH4), also a day boy, complete the leadership group as Deputy Heads of School.
Guy joined Tonbridge from The New Beacon and brings positive energy to everything he does. He is studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Design Technology for A Level, and is interested in pursuing a degree in Engineering having been recognised nationally with the award of an Arkwright Scholarship.
Guy’s interests range from 1st XV rugby and golf to rocketry, paddling on the Medway for his DofE Gold expedition and representing the CCF in the Honour Guard.
Reflecting on his appointment, Guy said, “I’m looking forward to having the increased responsibility and representing the School to our wider community and Old Tonbridgians”.
Ed joined us from Somerhill and has contributed greatly to the super-curricular life of the School by promoting pupil voice in debating and discussions about political thought. He has helped to lead the recent expansion of Model United Nations, winning a Best Delegate award and hosting students from other schools in a new Tonbridge MUN Conference.
In his spare time, Ed enjoys listening to music as well as podcasts on politics and culture, in addition to reading, citing Mythos by Stephen Fry as his favourite book. He also experiments with wood whittling and takes his springer spaniel, Digby, for walks.
As a boarder, Charlie has continued to make the most of every opportunity, after joining us from Holmewood House. He is an impressive sportsman, representing the School at the highest level in cricket, rugby, football, squash and rackets, and even running back-to-back marathons during a recent half term break.
He has wide-ranging academic interests, embracing Science, Mathematics and languages both ancient and modern. His ambition is to read Classics, either in the UK or US.
Following the announcement, Headmaster, James Priory said,
“I am very much looking forward to working with Guy, Charlie and Ed as Heads of School, and am confident that they will make a fantastic team thanks to their approachability, thoughtfulness and the innate enthusiasm each of them brings to the role.”
