May Day Concert

Our annual May Day Concert took place last Friday in the Chapel. The programme opened with the Percussion Ensemble’s acoustic renditions of Uptown Funk by Ronson and Mars and Clocks by Coldplay. The Concert Band followed with Holst’s Moorside March, before delighting the audience with an upbeat medley of twelve ABBA songs. More classical works then took centre stage, performed by the Vengerov and Clarinet Quartets, the Junior Strings, and the School Orchestra. The audience enjoyed music by Mozart, Haydn, Wagner, Grieg, and others.

The performances were particularly impressive as they featured predominantly boys from the Lower School. Congratulations to all who took part, and thank you to our ensemble leaders for inspiring and encouraging the boys to perform to such a high standard and with such enjoyment.
