Tonbridge named Finalist for Independent Boys’ School of the Year

We are delighted to announce that Tonbridge has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Independent Boys’ School of the Year Award 2026.
This recognises many of the qualities that define life at Tonbridge, including our House system which creates a close-knit community where every boy is known, supported and encouraged. Alongside academic stretch, challenge and support, boys enjoy a rich co-curricular programme complemented by extensive super-curricular opportunities.

Through our Tonbridge Community Action programme, they also engage with the wider community, developing a sense of responsibility while learning from and making a positive difference to those around them.

The latest enhancement of Think 25 encourages pupils to consider where they want to be at twenty-five, supported by mentoring and careers guidance which extends beyond university.

Our guiding principle, Only Connect, lies at the heart of all we do, reflecting our ambition to develop boys who are not only successful, but intellectually curious, compassionate and ready to make a positive contribution to the world.

This ambition extends to the girls we will welcome in 2028 when our Sixth Form becomes co-educational, whilst we remain committed to providing an all-boys education in the Lower School (Years 9–11).

Commenting on the news, Headmaster James Priory said, “We are delighted to be a finalist for this prestigious award. It reflects the strength, spirit and shared endeavour of our staff and boys, and my heartfelt thanks goes to everyone who makes this School the inspirational and supportive place we call home.”
