Admissions Fees
& Charges

Fees
& Charges

School fees cover tuition, meals, accommodation (for boarders), most educational resources and the majority of co-curricular activities. Additional variable costs include music lessons, school trips and other optional charges.

Payment of fees

Tuition fees are billed to a boy’s parents (or other person responsible for payment) before the start of each term. The School account includes the School fee for the following term, together with any additional charges (or ‘extras’) for the previous term.

If a Scholarship, Foundation Award or Bursary has been granted, the value of the award will be clearly shown on the bill and deducted from the final total.

Payments can be made via a termly direct debit or a monthly direct debit (via a commercially operated scheme, School Fee Plan).

School ‘extras’ are billed termly in arrears and will vary, ‘extras’ are usually in the region of £300 to £1,500 per term, depending on your son’s chosen activities and optional recharges.

Third Son

A 10% reduction of fees is given to the third son (and any subsequent sons) of the same family to attend the School.

Change of Circumstance

The School may be able to offer financial assistance to parents (of boys already at the School), who suffer a significant and unexpected change of financial circumstances, impacting on their ability to keep their son(s) at Tonbridge.

Further enquiries should be directed to the Fees Manager.

Scholarships, Foundation Awards and Bursaries

The value of our Foundation Award, Scholarships and other awards equates to almost £2.5m in fee reductions per annum. We are aiming to double the number of Foundation Award recipients by 2028, equating to 1 in 8 of pupils receiving financial support. Visit our Financial Assistance and Scholarships pages to find out more.
