Tim selected for national Physics Challenge

Tonbridge boy Tim Hoving (WH4) has been selected to take part in the prestigious Senior Physics Challenge – making him one of the top 30 pupils in the country.

To qualify, pupils must complete a series of advanced questions, set by university lecturers on isaacphysics.org

Just 30 students are then chosen to go on to compete in the Senior Physics Challenge, which is run by the University of Cambridge over four days in July.

Tim, who is in the Lower Sixth at Tonbridge, managed to correctly answer more than 600 tough questions on the website, logging on daily for a period of over six months.

Phil Deakin, the school’s Head of Physics, said: “Isaac Physics questions are an excellent method of practising your Physics skills, and are the best method of preparing for university interviews. Tim has worked extremely hard, fully deserves his success and has become extremely good at problem solving.”
