Judde is the closest boarding House to the Tonbridge School Centre and is just a five-minute walk from the main classroom block. First Years share dormitories of between two and three to a room and then move into single-study bedrooms from the Second Year onwards.
The House has many notable old boys including businessman Tim Waterstone, architect Sir Herbert Baker, Richard Hughes, the drummer in Keane, and Ben Earl, Saracens and England rugby player.

About the Housemaster
James Storey-Mason studied French and History at the University of Nottingham before completing his PGCE. He started his teaching career at Norwich School where he was Head of French and Head of Year. He arrived at Tonbridge in 2019 where he spent four years as Assistant Housemaster of Park House. Alongside his current role as Housemaster and Teacher of Modern Languages, James has previously led digital wellbeing throughout the School and co-ordinated the Anti-Bullying Council, playing an important role in the pastoral education programme.
James’ co-curricular interests include hockey (currently U14A team coach), rugby and live music; he is also a keen pianist and percussionist. James is married to Antonia, a Consultant at Perrett Laver. They have two small children, Rupert and Kit, and a very energetic cockapoo called Bramble.
About the Matron
Clair Miller graduated from the University of Plymouth in 1998 (BSc Hons). Her background was in Tourism until she had a career change in 2004, when she came to Tonbridge. Clair herself boarded at both prep and senior schools in Dorset. She started life at Tonbridge in School House (as Assistant Matron) and moved across the road to be the Matron of Judde in 2007. With 20 years of experience there isn’t anything she hasn’t seen or dealt with. Known as ‘Matey’ to boys, parents and staff alike, Clair is always to be seen spending time with the boys on the touchline of sporting events, around the House and at many school events as one of the school’s photographers. She too has a dog, Ebony, who is a firm favourite with the boys.
