Memorable Madrid Pre-Season Tour

In anticipation of the Lent Term football season, the Under 15 and 16 Tonbridge squads embarked on a weeklong pre-season tour to Madrid.

In what U15A player, James (PH2), hailed as a “once in a lifetime experience,” the boys soaked up more than just the Spanish sun, embracing the opportunity to learn from Real Madrid coaching staff during sessions at the Los Blancos’ impressive training facilities.

“The Under 15s coach, Rafa, was passionate, his drills were challenging, incorporating a multiplicity of skills in each exercise, and we look forward to bringing some of our new-found Spanish flair back to Tonbridge”, reflected James.

Both squads also had the chance to test themselves against quality local opposition, which despite being a challenging battle, provided a wealth of opportunity to strengthen their team cohesion and playing styles.

In addition to the incredible footballing experiences, there was also time to tour the stadiums of both Madrid based LaLiga teams, as well as watching Atletico de Madrid play live against Getafe.
