Assessments
We encourage all applicants to come to our Assessment Days in Tonbridge as we can learn so much more about your son and it provides him with an opportunity to meet with other applicants and enjoy taking part in activities around the School. However, we are mindful that this is not always practical for our families living overseas, therefore, it is possible for your son to be assessed at a representative office overseas, such as The British Council or at the offices of one of our appointed agents. They will also have the opportunity to participate in online interviews and activities with key staff at Tonbridge.
Level of English
Tonbridge School teaches every lesson in English, so students must have a high level of fluency in both their written and verbal expression. To give you an indication of the level we require, an Upper Intermediate level or higher is essential, equivalent to CEFR C1.
International Student Liaison Officer
Once you have accepted a place for your son, Barbara Pring, our International Liaison Officer, will liaise with you regarding your son’s arrival and in relation to his ongoing welfare once here. She will also assist with visas, travel arrangements, packing lists and any other queries. In addition, she liaises with guardians and organises a programme of activities and trips during exeat weekends and at key points throughout the year.
Visa support
Please contact our admissions team for further information about where to check what type of visa your son may require.
