Our open events will enable you to hear from the Headmaster, meet teaching staff and our admissions team. You will also be taken on a tour of the School by pupils who can share their experience of Tonbridge.
Application
The next step is to complete the online Registration Form and to pay the non-refundable registration fee of £350 (inclusive of VAT). The deadline for registration is 1 September 2026 and late applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
International applicants
International applicants are categorised as being those whose parents reside overseas, and we encourage applications from such families. In advance of boys being considered for a place, boys will be required to sit a UKiset assessment, naming Tonbridge as the school you would like the results to be shared with.
Registration
Please complete the online Registration Form, including a non-refundable registration fee of £350 (inclusive of VAT).
Assessment
The initial assessment is either conducted at one of our approved assessment centres, or through a school report for those in UK schools. If your son performs well in this initial assessment, he will be invited to sit mathematics and English entry exams, either at Tonbridge School, or at an approved test centre overseas during the half-term break of Michaelmas Term. Example papers are available.
Please note that, prior to a decision being made, your son’s current school will be contacted directly for a confidential school reference.
Boys who perform well on the entry examination will be offered an online interview in mid-November.
Results
The results will be communicated in December, when boys will receive one of three outcomes: an unconditional offer, a place on the wait list, or no offer.
Following an unconditional offer, families should complete the Admissions Checklist via their Tonbridge Portal account and pay the relevant fees.
Boys placed on the wait list will be considered as places become available and families will be updated accordingly.
IGCSE subject selection
In February before entry in September, your son will be invited to make his selection for IGCSE subjects. In the Summer Term, he will be invited to submit preferences for sport and Wednesday Afternoon Activities (WAA) and he will also have the opportunity to attend a taster day and meet with his Housemaster once a House has been allocated.
