Year 12 (16+) Entry

International applicants should complete the online Tonbridge Registration Form, which includes attaching the most recent school report and paying a non-refundable registration fee of £350 (inclusive of VAT) by 1 September. Earlier submission is welcome. 

As part of the Registration Form, you will need to specify the four subjects that your son hopes to pursue at A-level. These are the subjects he will be examined in, alongside an English Language paper, in consideration for entry to Tonbridge. Please note that if your son wishes to pursue three A-levels alongside an EPQ or Further Mathematics as a fourth A-level, he will still need to be examined in four different subjects, and this choice should be indicated on the form. 

Families should also arrange to sit UKiset assessments, naming Tonbridge as the school they would like the results to be sent to.

Your son will be invited to sit four examinations in his chosen subjections, in addition to an English Language Exam. Example papers are available here. 

Boys applying from the UK will be invited to sit these exams at Tonbridge School. 

Boys applying from overseas are able to sit these exams at a British Council Office.

Based on the results of these exams, boys may be invited to interview with a subject specialist teacher.

Unconditional offers will be awarded to the highest performing boys on 1 December. 

Families must accept their son's place by completing their Acceptance Form on the Tonbridge School Portal an Admission Fee of £2,250 (inclusive of VAT) by mid-December.

Applicants living overseas will also be required to pay the first term’s fees in advance.

It is possible to express preference for a particular House and the School will do its best to accommodate this preference, depending on House configurations. 

Families accepting an Unconditional Offer are encouraged to visit Houses and meet with Housemasters. They are then able to notify the School of a preference for a maximum of three Houses.

This is not a requirement and many families express no preference each year, leaving allocation to the Headmaster and Director of Admissions.
