Cricketers claim two trophies and aim for third

Tonbridge School has won two more cricket trophies and is hoping to shortly complete a hat-trick of successes.
The school’s 1st XI, pictured, won the Cowdrey Cup in June, having competed against strong opposition in Eton, Harrow, Wellington, Radley and Charterhouse throughout the season.
The U14 side have been crowned Kent champions, winning the Oliver Cup for the school for the third year running. The side won the final of the Kent regional competition by 154 runs against Simon Langton School for Boys in a match played at Tenterden Cricket Club.
Meanwhile, the U15 team reached the ESCA National Cup Final after an impressive semi-final win against Marlborough College. Tonbridge won by 6 wickets, posting 151-4 in reply to Marlborough’s 147 all out.
The final, against Bedford School, takes place at Oakham School, in Rutland, on Monday 9 July.
Jono Arscott, the school’s 1st XI coach, said: “These magnificent results are a tribute to the boys’ commitment and dedication. Cricket at Tonbridge is in fine shape: we have a great history and an exciting future.”
