Double honours for school’s swimmers

Tonbridge School’s Swimming Club won two events at the Kent Schools’ Team Swimming Championships on Saturday 22 September.
The club’s A-teams, captained by Ed Harris (CH5), were victorious in both the senior 200m freestyle and 200m medley relay competitions.
Master in Charge of Swimming, David Pinker, said: “We recorded highly impressive times, especially for so early in the term. There was very strong competition on the day and a very high level of performance all round. Our swimmers can be proud of their achievements.”
Two teams from Tonbridge competed in both events, with Ed Harris, Teddy Wallace (OH4) and Peter Zheng (FH4) in the winning A-teams. Sam Taylor (PH4) and Karsten Mok (HS3) swam with them in the freestyle and medley races respectively.
The Kent Schools’ Team Swimming Championships also serve as a qualifying event for the England Schools National Finals, which take place on 17 November at the London Aquatics Centre.
