Environmental Photographer of the Year exhibition

A new exhibition at Tonbridge School’s Old Big School Gallery is showcasing world-leading work in environmental photography.

Running between 28 September and 9 November, the Environmental Photographer of the Year exhibition will include images selected from more than ten thousand entries from across the globe.

Each outstanding work has been chosen for its impact, originality and technical skill, as well as its ability to inspire a worldwide audience to think differently about contemporary environmental issues. Admission is free.

Emily Glass, the Gallery’s Curator, said: “The photographs demonstrate the dynamic link between environmental and social concerns, examining subjects such as sustainable development, biodiversity, poverty, climate change and population growth. While celebrating humanity’s innate ability to survive and innovate, the exhibition reminds us that we all live on the same planet, and that the actions we take affect others around us.”

Winners of the school’s Environmental Photography Competition (which is open until 9 September) will also have their work displayed.

The exhibition is being staged in partnership with CIWEM, the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management. It is open to the public at weekends between 12pm and 4pm, and from Monday to Friday for booked groups. Contact
