Tonbridge is Finalist in Independent Schools awards

Tonbridge has made it through to the final stage of the Independent Schools of the Year awards 2019.

The competition, run by Independent School Parent magazine, highlights the quality of the student experience and attracts entries from hundreds of independent schools from across the country.

Tonbridge is a Finalist in the category for Independent Boys’ School of the Year, with the overall winners being announced at an awards ceremony taking place in London on Monday 7 October.

James Priory, the school’s Headmaster, said: “This accolade reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff and boys in many areas, including academic and pastoral excellence, co-curricular breadth and depth, and social responsibility – for instance, we’ve seen more than 24,000 hours of volunteering time being put in during the past year.

“It is excellent to see the school being recognised for the quality and roundedness of all that the boys achieve.”

The judging panel is made up of heads, governors, parents and representatives of membership associations from across the sector. It is chaired by Dr Helen Wright, Vice-Chair of the Independent Schools Council.

David Moncrieff, Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board at Independent School Parent magazine, added: “The awards have again been designed with the student experience at their heart and provides schools with a platform to showcase their stories of innovation and success.”
