Tonbridge Rugby Sevens secure Kent Schools’ title

Tonbridge emerged as winners in the Kent Schools’ U18 Rugby Sevens Tournament on Wednesday (11 March).

After steadily improving performances throughout the group stages, the boys went on to beat a strong Skinners’ School side in the semi-final, with outstanding performances in particular from Oliver Walker (HS5), Tom Tribe (PH5) and Tom Wooldridge (HS5).

The final saw Tonbridge defeat holders Eltham College, with Rhys Crane, Master in Charge of Rugby, calling it “a fantastic squad performance”. He added: “It was great to see the whole squad making a contribution in every game and maintaining the high standard of rugby throughout the day. The boys can be very proud of their efforts, showing creativity in attack and a hard-working attitude in defence.”

The tournament took place at Gravesend RFC and Gravesend Grammar School.
