Join the conversation with Zak Crawley and Chris Morgan

A series of ‘webinars’ featuring former Tonbridge pupils who have made a name in the sporting world starts this Wednesday (29 April).

Chris Morgan, the school’s Director of Sport, will be in conversation with rising star Zak Crawley from 4.15pm. All are welcome to join the session, which is taking place via Zoom, and questions can be emailed in advance to Christopher.Morgan@tonbridge-school.org

Zak (WH 2011-16), pictured, is a batsman for Kent County Cricket Club and made his international debut for England in November 2019 against New Zealand.

In the 4th Test of the tour of South Africa earlier this year, Zak became the youngest Kent cricketer to score 50 in a Test for England. At the time he was 21 years, 10 months and 22 days, which beat the record of Colin Cowdrey (also an OT).

Zak began to establish himself in the England side in the series in South Africa with innings of 25 (2nd Test), 44 (3rd Test) and 66 and 24 (4th Test), as well as taking two vital catches.

Chris Morgan said: “It will be lovely to catch up with Zak and welcome him back to the school, albeit only virtually for now. He will be sharing his memories of being at Tonbridge and his recent experiences of playing for England, and I’m hoping this will be a good listen.”

Alongside former Tonbridge pupil Ben Earl, from the world of rugby, Zak was the subject of a feature in the Sunday Times on 26 April. The article can be read here.

More details are available via Tonbridge Connect and the webinar can be joined by clicking here.

The series will be continuing each week, with details of other guests to be confirmed soon.
