Tonbridge Boys take part in the Annual International History Competition
The International History Bee and Bowl at Trinity School, Croydon took place over the weekend, where 11 Tonbridge boys were eager to tackle the annual quiz competition.
During the History Bee, boys competed individually, while the Bowl was a chance for boys to work together in teams of four, answering a multitude of international history questions. The event urged the boys to use their extensive knowledge and rapid recall, to hit their buzzers before their opposition.
In the individual competition, Alexander (HS4) was the top performer, achieving an impressive fifth place overall, showcasing his thorough knowledge in a tense final against excellent quizzers.
Alexander said “I found the experience exciting and challenging as I’ve never competed in a format like the History Bowl before. The event was really enjoyable and to finish in a decent position was great.”
Head of History, Noah Hillyard, who accompanied the boys, said, “The Senior and Junior Teams in the History Bowl performed outstandingly in the School’s first ever entry into this competition and will return next year with some very useful experience under their belt!”
